We also know that stress is the number one contributor to our biological age and predisposes us to all sorts of health issues that are preventable with lifestyle choices. There is a lot about life we cannot control. We cannot control our chronological age. But we are in the driver's seat of our biological age!

The Foundational Roots of Qigong Course: 

​

This is the entry point, the foundational roots of a lifelong Qigong practice. It is the gateway into the rest of Path with Harmony's and Maria's offerings. Having these core skills under your belt allows you to establish a lasting practice and go deeper and wider into this art in a practical, grounded, and safe way. The rest of the courses offered by Path with Harmony builds and grows from this core practice.​​

You Will Learn:

You will learn a Five Element Qigong form. It is a practical “qigong framework” for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health with simple, easy-to-understand Qigong movements and nourishing life practices.

This Course Covers:

  • The essential basics and foundational roots of Qigong

  • Introduces the Five Elements

  • Gentle Qigong flows

  • Standing postures (may also be done seated)

  • Guided meditations.​

In this foundational roots course, I'm teaching a simple yet robust Qigong practice that you can tailor to suit your needs as you embark on your self-healing journey. ​

My name is Maria Chowdhury, and I'm inviting you to join me and experience Five Element Qigong for your health, vitality, and longevity.

​​​​​​​Five Element Qigong is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Many describe TCM as a tree with five branches. The five branches are: acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition and diet, bodywork (a combination of massage and chiropractic called Tuina), and movement as medicine. The movement branch includes practices like Qigong, tai chi, breathwork, and meditation.​​​​​​​​​​​

​

Qigong is pronounced (Chee Gong).

Qi means "life force energy," and 

Gong means "work." Qigong can be translated as "skillful energy work" that cultivates life force energy.

​​Qigong is ancient and vast, with many forms and practices. In brief, Five Element Qigong follows the principles of Tao and the seasons of nature. It correlates each season with the elements, an organ system, meridian lines, acupressure points, sounds, colors, emotions, animals, archetypes, herbs, foods, Qigong movements, and nourishing life practices for health and wellness.​​​​​​​​

Qigong is an ancient practice that is just as relevant today as it was thousands of years ago. The ancient Qigong masters did not have the same life stressors we have today.  Now, we must intentionally and actively connect with nature and create our lives with compassion and purpose by skillfully working with all five elements.

Practicing Five Element Qigong helps you find health, harmony, and balance within yourself and with nature, allowing you to respond to the present moment with ease.

Session 1 Opening the Body:

​

After a short introduction and welcome, we begin by bringing our mind and awareness inside, opening our body with a warm-up, and anchoring our breath. 

​

​

Session 2: Vertical Alignment, 

Showering Qi, and Quan Yin Bow

​

This is how we open an close the practice and the Five Element Form.

Session 3 Metal Element:

​

We begin the Form with the Metal Element. Metal is related to the lungs and the immune system. This session will teach breathing practices to support our respiratory and immune health.

​

Metal is also about creating healthy boundaries, clearing space, sealing energy leaks, and letting go of what no longer serves.

Session 4 Water Element:

​

Water is related to the kidneys, bones, joints, knees, and lower back.

 

In this session, we will learn flowing Qigong movements to support these areas and create a feeling of deep relaxation and trust as we learn to move skillfully with the current of life.

Session 5 Wood Element:

​

Wood is related to the liver, central nervous system, and our stress response. 

 

In this session, we will stretch, coil, and learn Qigong practices to open our spine, nourish our nervous system, help us transform stress into vitality, and nourish our growth mindset and life vision. 

​

Session 6 Fire Element:

​

Fire is related to the heart, the circulatory system, and our passion and joy for life.

 

In this session, we will learn Qigong practices movements that tune us to the frequency of love and kindness.

Session 7 Earth Element:

​

Earth is related to the spleen, stomach, metabolism, and digestion. 

 

In this session, we will locate our dantien and learn Qigong practices that ground us in the present moment and support the integration and digestion of our food and experiences, transforming them into a healthy life and body.​

​

Session 8: Complete the Five Element Form

​

As we complete the form, you will have the foundations for your personal Qigong practice.  And a launch pad for your Qigong growth. 

 

For some, this is an ending, and for some, this is just the beginning!​
