A Visualization Practice to Transform Internal Stress into Relaxation (“Ice Into Steam”)

Updated: Aug 24, 2023

In Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is often said that: The mind leads the Qi. Where the mind goes, Qi goes. Yi Tao- Qi Tao. In other words, when you focus your mind in a skillful way, it's possible to transform your internal energy state and experience elevated states of consciousness.

And that's what we are about to do in this meditation. Once you learn this skill, you will always have it with you, and the best part is that you can do this all on your own without relying on outside help.

You are about to experience a simple yet powerful visualization as a guided meditation designed to help you transform internal stress and tension into peace, relaxation, and pure healing energy.

In Qigong, Chinese Medicine, stress and tension are represented by ice. Peace and relaxation are designated by water, and healing, purification, and spiritual transcendence are described by steam or vapor.

In this 20-minute guided meditation, you'll learn how to transform tension and stress into peace and relaxation and then into pure, healing energy. This internal process mirrors the natural process of ice melting into water and evaporating into steam.

As our tradition here at Path with Harmony, after every practice session, we bow to our teachers, our teacher's teachers, and the teacher within. And in so doing, today, we are bowing to Lee Holden, who taught me this meditation. 🙏🏽

And if you feel like you'd like a little herbal support for those especially stressful days, check out our Solid and Serene Tincture to support your physical, emotional, and mental bodies to relax and feel stable and peaceful.

Hugs and deep bows of gratitude to you and your practice,

Maria
